If you find you have been in tick territory, and are concerned about bringing them into your home, place your clothes directly into the dryer and a full cycle. Heat from the dryer will kill the ticks, washing in the machine, does not. Cold weather does not kill them, either.
Since tick season is year-round, please do all you can to remain free of the infections they carry.
