Approached from Little River Road - followed cross country ski route to Trailhead.

Trail Conditions: Parts of approach route and North Twin trail iced, others wet and with standing water - very little snow at lower altitudes. Few blowdowns, little erosion, on FWT, up to five or six inches of snow - fairly soft - at higher altitudes. Some water and mud on the FWT. Up to six inches of snow on bushwhack, some thick spruce encountered. Two note pads in South Hale cannister, older full notepad taken to return to AMC address listed on cover.

Special Equipment Required: Some found microspikes or equivalent useful at some points, others were happy to bare boot all the way. Poles definitely needed for stability at points for those who did not use their spikes.

Great day, many thanks to Cath, Bryan, Tom Rankin, TDawg and Raymond for info and encouragement. Thanks to AlexN for being lead navigator for the South Hale portion of our trek.
