Lowe's was a skating rink after initial mud/rock/ice lower trail - stretches of hard ice that became slight mushy by end of day. Upper Randolf has snow, broken out by boots. Jefferson snowfields are similar - broken out by boots only. Jefferson has snow and ice, with on section of the loop trail that is steep with harder snow - traction essential. Adams and upper Lowes is rocky with snow and ice.
We wore microspikes the entire trip, we could have switched to crampons.
It was a warm and beautiful day, I wore glove liners on Adams!
