Route: Lincoln Woods to Rt 302 Zealand Winter Parking Area
23 miles, 4550' gain, 11:45 start to finish
Wilderness Trail and Bondcliff Trail thick ice with light dusting of snow. snow deepens at about 2000 ft where snowshoes become helpful but traction will work. Bondcliff to Zeacliff a nice snowshoe track is set
. About 1.5 feet of snow with higher drifts. From Zeacliff to summer parking area snow diminishes to about 3 inches. Ice underneath requires light traction. Zealand Road solid ice, traction required. We wore microspikes or Hillsounds and snowshoes today.
Notes: great day out, winds between Bondcliff and Bond 25 mph, visibility pretty good. Temps hovered around freezing. Great day in the woods with Eric, Silverfox, ADKnBVI aka Database, Old Man Ed. ran into Nancy and Charlie Foote and friend Jonas, And Gary Tompkins.
