Date of Hike: Saturday, January 7th

Trails:
Lincoln Woods, Black Pond, Bushwhack, Lincoln Brook, Owl's Head Path

Trail Conditions: Lincoln Woods was solid ice that was chewed up with snow on top (Microspikes were perfect for this). Black Pond Trail has a few inches of packed snow and easy. Black Pond Bushwhack had a few different tracks on Saturday (probably filled in by now) the lowest one missed the Lincoln Brook Trail, the other two were fine. River Crossings on the Lincoln Brook were frozen up pretty good, just walked across without rock hopping. Owl's Head Slide - used microspikes going up and crampons coming down, use caution and you shoud have no problems. If you don't want to head up the slide the Brutus Bushwhack to avoid it got some use this weekend as well (see other trail conditions).

Special equipment: microspikes

Comments: Great day in the Pemi, loved being able to tackle the slide in the winter solo without it turning into a sufferfest :) Great to run into Marty and his group with their dog on the trails. Trip Report / Pictures
