My buddy and I hiked Pleasant Mt on Sunday; skies were clear and it was COLD! We spotted my truck at McKay's Pasture and started the hike at Bald Peak. Trail had been broken up to where Sue's Way is adjacent to Shawnee Peak and we broke it from there to where North Ridge connects to Bald Peak again. There was only 6-8" of snow but the crust made for a loud passage. We wend down Southwest/McKay's following a snowshoe path for a bit til it broke out and bushwhacked off. The open ledges of McKay's were a little dicey as the snow was deeper (10"-12") & crust was a thicker. Not many drifts. The 6.3 miles took us about 5 hrs. to complete.
Equipment: I wore Hillsound's and Chris bare booted with no problems.
