broke the road and trail all day. 5-6 inches fresh powder so snowshoes were optimal. small section of trail marked as damaged but was easy to navigate. trail is not well blazed. mike and myself were the only two out there today but lots of people had gone out the al merrill loop trail when we left. 4 cars in the lot and road was well packed. summit conditions were cold at 0 degrees and a constant 40 mph wind. there was fresh powder up until the treeline ends and then it was wind packed. goggles were a must with the windchill and wind. clear skies and a great day to be out on the mountain
