Dix 1-25-12

Three of us did this via the Round Pond trail. There is significant ice over the first several hundred yards of the trail climbing up from Route 73. After that there is very little ice including along the section which parallels the slide. From the flat area after the climb from Route 73 to the summit there is frozen snow. There is little of it to the leanto and Microspikes were used. From there on snowshoes were helpful. The main brook crossing by the leanto is frozen over but sounds quite hollow. We broke through going over some of the minor brooks.
