Hello
Do you know if there is an alpine binding compatible with the Koflach Expe (circa 2005).

Or rephrased: Is there a binding that will fit the boot and allow alpine sking?

The sole is rolled very slightly like a banana by design,

Also the toe flange on the sole of the Expe is too short to catch under the arms of the alpine binding toepiece.

Thank you ,
John

If you search "silvretta" here you'll find threads on the subject. Any Randonee/Alpine Touring binding should be compatible. The weak link on anything serious will be the boots as they just won't lock down your ankle and foot like a ski boot will.

Silvretta 500's will fit your boots. The newer model (I have the older one) adjusts for different boot types (yours, AT and downhill) without a screwdriver. Don't order the 550's, they are step-in, but won't take your boots. There is also the Grivel Randonnée, but they are hard to find now.

The 500's go to DIN 10, but I don't think I'd go that far up for the reasons Chip mentionned.

I hope this helps.

Doug
