A Spectacular day on Overlook Mt

On the 1-10 scale of mountain days, this was an 11.
2" of hard packed snow on the woods/road trail, achingly blue skies, and rime encrusted trees. The sun had melted the ice off the tower steps and views and photos from tower were gorgeous. Everyone enjoyed the Overlook hotel ruins.
We hiked over to the overlook on Overlook could see Smiley's tower, downtown Albany, MA, CT and a 360 degree view of the snowy Catskill summits.
Didn't hurt to have a terrific group of friends for conversation all the way: Pat, Audrey, Marge, Mike, Alexis, Ralph and Leo & Bookah.

Beautiful day ... fantastic photos, Alan and Ralph! By the way, Overlook was my choice to finish the CAT 98. Bypassed the summit side trail, bagged Plattekill , then returned up the back trail to Overlook to grab the view from the tower.
