Trails: Tuckerman's Ravine to Lion's Head

Trail Conditions: The parking lot at Pinkham was full early today. Lots of skiers and hikers out enjoying the spring weather. Wore micro spikes starting about 3/4 mile up Tuckerman's trail and kept them on till treeline. Tuck's has bare ground down low changing to soft ice then spring snow up to the Lions head trail. The summer route is open on Lions Head with ice and soft snow. Some hikers bare booted but traction was helpful. The remaining snow is melting fast with running water undermining the trail in places resulting in some deep postholes. The snowfields are easily crossed. Very mild on the summit today with bare ground on most of the summit cone.

Special Equipment: Microspikes, poles. Ice axe if you are not comfortable on steeper snow.
