Trail Conditions: The lower part of the Garfield Trail had a little snowcover mixed with bare dry trail and muddy sections. The remnants of the monorail remain in the upper half of the trail, but this was not hard to navigate. 6-8 inches left on the trail. Crossings were no problem.

Special Equipment Needed: We put on microspikes at the summit for help on the descent and took them off a bit over half way down.

Comments: perfect day with great VFTT. Temp on the summit was 26 but nearly no wind and the warm sun made it feel much warmer. New bridges on the loop road are nice - road is still closed for the season but it's an easy walk of maybe 1.3 miles to the trailhead. I've always really liked the path the start of this trail takes high along the river bank.
