Whiteface via Flat Mountain Pond Trail & McCrillis Trail

This is not a well traveled route to Whiteface but trails easily followed. McCrillis Trail is covered with a thick layer of leaves, making footing a little awkward at times. For quite a while,it's a just a walk in the woods, then McCrillis becomes quite steep. Great views from the ledges.

I brought microspikes but no traction was needed. Only place we saw ice was going from the "false summit" to the true one. A little care was needed there.

Hiked with a small group of people, had a good time. Beautiful, warm day. The woods are beautiful.
