Photos can be found at my BLOG. (This hike involved a visit to Ethan Pond + an off-trail excursion to cascades along North Fork brook.)
TRAIL CONDITIONS:
Kedron Flume Trail: There were a few small blowdowns of no consequence. Crossing Kedron Brook at the flume was very easy. Some of the severely eroded areas on this trail have resulted in drop-offs that can be a bit dicey to negotiate when conditions are wet and/or icy.
Ethan Pond Trail (from junction with Kedron Flume Trail to a point about a half-mile beyond the spur trail to Ethan Pond): This segment of the Ethan Pond Trail was generally in good shape. There were a few minor blowdowns, but all were easily negotiated. The biggest issue on this particular day was icy conditions on many of the bog bridges. This, of course, is a temporary condition which will resolve as the days become warmer.
Spur Trail to Ethan Pond: In good shape, but had ice and patches of snow on the day of the hike.
