Inspired by 1Happyhiker's Blog, Scott and I started on Blueberry ledge Trail, but left very quickly to take an active logging road that coincided with our bearing. We left the logging road to start our climb up to the col between Sugarloaf and Hogsback. The terrain up on the ridge was great. We went up Sugarloaf first. There are ledges all over. It pays to spend some time checking them out for fine views in various directions. Then we headed for Hogsback. The east side of Hogsback is birch glades. We stayed in those and poked out at highest points along the ridge for some very fine views in all directions. We dropped back into birch glades headed towards the col between Jeffers and Hogsback. At the col we headed westward and down. We shorlty ended up in the middle of the logging operations (being Saturday no one was working also there was no machinery in evidence so they are not currently logging). The clearcut provided a view up to cliffs of Hogsback.
