i know ore hill shelter burned down, but what are the options now? tenting still okay?

I believe that would be fine. My understanding is that they will convert that to a campsite moving forward.

When I hiked there last week, there was noone there, but, there were flat spots quite available for tenting in the general area. The pit toilet is half gone, however.... no door and the seat didn't look safe

According to the sign at the beginning to the Ore Hill tr on Cape Moonshine Rd...tenting is allowed...at least thats what I infer.
