Large brush fire reported in Litchfield County

By WFSB StaffCANAAN, CT (WFSB) - A large brush fire was reported in Litchfield County on Wednesday morning.

Few details have been released, but officials from Litchfield County Dispatch said emergency crews have been called to a section of the Appalachian Trail in Salisbury.

Fire was actually reported by a hiker ! Must have been an interesting day on the trail, between the fire and the storms that moved through. That corner of the state always seems to get the worst weather.

Glad it was caught early & small, that area of CT & MA is one of the best parts of the AT south of Greylock.
