Date of Hike: 22 September 2012
Trail Conditions: Road walk was a breeze, taking only 30 minutes each way. Signal Ridge Trail in great shape with no significant obstacles. Water crossing before the Carrigain Notch junction was straightforward. Desolation Trail from the summit was wet in places, making the steep section a little slow and fussy. Water crossing at the bottom was no problem. Carrigain Notch trail was a stream in places but we were able to keep our feet dry. Somewhat overgrown in places but not too bad and never difficult to follow the trail. No significant blowdowns anywhere on the route.
Special Equipment Required: Nothing special. Warm layers for the summit.
Comments: Optional - A beautiful early-fall day with the beginning of colour and an excellent, very scenic route to finish my NH and NE 4k lists.
