Hi to All

Another "EARLY" red-lining finisher has re-surfaced and come forward.

Francis Muzzey

Summer season 1998.

Completes "every" trail in the "23rd" edition of the AMC NH

White Mountain Guide.

On the Clark Brook Trail ( a section of the A.T. ).

Francis' companion on this day was his long time hiking friend

Mike LaRoss.

ABSOLUTLELY OUTSTANDING!!!!!

This makes Francis the "THIRD ( #3 )" known and documented finisher of

"all" the trails in the AMC NH White Mountain Guide.

FYI: Francis' first hike was a visit to Mt Garfield in July of 1985. He was

introduced to hiking by his good friend Mike LaRoss. Francis

completed the "NH 48", the next year, in August of 1986, on Mt

Isolation.

Francis then began his "red-lining" journey.

Just recently, Sept 23, 2012, this year, Francis completed his

"NH 100" list on Dixville Peak. He was again accompanied by

his long time hiking pal Mike LaRoss and other friends.

Francis turned age 70, on May 1, 2012 ( this year ).

MORE: Along the way, Francis went out of his way to hike, "every" "mapped"

trail in NH, the Long Trail and all its spurs in VT, etc., etc.

It should also be noted that the "23rd" edtion of the AMC NH White

Mountain Guide also included all trails on Mt Monadnock and Mt Cardigan,

plus trails in the Belknaps, Ossippees, etc.

Francis is a fountain of knowledge and a delightful person to meet, talk with,

and hike with.

I know you will all join me in CONGRATULATIONS to Francis!!!!!!

Thanks,

And, Take Care

Francis cannot see this, because he is not online... but a big congrats go out to him. Pleased to have been on a couple of NHHH hikes with him including his finish hike on that list. Go Francis!

What an accomplishment to be proud of! Congratulations. You must have seen some awesome sections of trail that few will ever see. Great Job.

I know how difficult this is because it was too much for me :)

I got up to something like 85% but it wasn't the difficult trails that turned me off but some descriptions that made some trails too boring/ugly to bother with. Hopefully many of these trails are gone from newer editions.

I suspect there are a few more unrecorded completions from pre-Internet days

Just recently, Sept 23, 2012, this year, Francis completed his

The trail up Dixville is on USGS maps so one would think he hiked it long ago along with Croydon, etc. Or is that just AMC maps?
