i just noticed that it was closed on 10/29 after opening on 10/6. Does anyone know if this was just a precautionor was there new damage?

I think it's a precaution. A lot of the roads are closed as of 29 October. I wonder if they'll reopen any of them for use until the snow flies?
It seems they have updated the list, not as many road closures and almost all the day use/campgrounds are open again:

Appears road has re-opened...let's hope for no snow until after Nov 10th.
