All trails had ice on them. We were able to easily avoid it, but some may be more comfortable with light traction. Poles helped with the stream crossings as the rocks were icy. The BW to South Hale went smoothly. We went in at the bog area on L a H. Woods were mostly open and found easy lines up. On the way down went more South and came to cliffs that overlook the valley. Great views (Zeacliff like) but with the added view of Zealand and the Pressies all from one spot. Came out a bit higher on L a H, but where we did come out (about 200 yds above bog) would be a good route in (no water worries). Down to hut then out. Great day out. Thanks Tom for joining us.
