A conversation with the SOA's attorney today confirms that as of late September Blodgett Lane is now a legal approach to the trails to Moose and McKenzie. This replaces the older approach via Chipmunk Lane. At first, this route was just supposed to be an "escape route" for hikers unaware that the old approach had been closed. Now it is legal as an approach. Yet to be done is a sign at Chipmunk Lane that references the new legal approach via Blodgett Lane. Also to be done is to move the "Private Property" sign (now right next to the trailhead sign) to the gate where the marked trail access leaves the road. Parking should be at the trailhead sign just in from Whiteface Inn Lane as there is no parking at the gate.
