Yes it's Return of the Son of the Boot-Related Questions!
Just got a new pair of nubuck boots and I'm debating on whether to use Nikwax, which I've found to be so-so, or something else. I imagine sno-seal would be too heavy and impair breathability. Any other suggestions?

IMHO, anything that truly waterproofs leather will impair breathability. I don't think that they've come up with a one-way treatment yet.
OK everyone, tell me the error of my ways... :p

I used SnoSeal on my boots and my wifes' new Asolo's and if you apply it carefully,it's fairly bulletproof. The trick is to heat the boots to get the stuff to soak in. Not sure about breathability, but my feet have stayed dry, even after walking through lots of stream crossings.
