Hubbard Brook Road

Wondering about Hubbard Brook Road...it appears to me it is not listed on the FS road listing but is listed as a FR in the guides and on maps..I know I could call Pemi District but just thought I would ask here...thanks..Lefty E

What do you want to know? The road is used for research programs, and is gated year-round. Nice for skiing or dog sledding!

Thanks about the info on the gate, did not know about it being gated year round..and I have always planned to try to get into the experimental area but have not yet, will next year sometime...the link is very useful..

Actually the main Hubbard Brook gate is open three seasons, currently closed. The side roads are gated. It is the official access road to the Mt. Kineo and Hubbard Brook trailheads.

In winter it is packed by research snowmobiles, and is very pleasant snowshoe or ski trip.
