trails: hancock notch trail, cedar brook trail, hancock loop trail
conditions: packed snowshoe track until the ridge where there was some drifting to soften things up. trail was generally smooth, but a bit chewed up on the south branch of the loop in particular. water crossings were all at least partially if not fully snowbridged. we removed some more of the sandy blowdown/leaners along the ridge that have become pesky with the snow base. also did some needed winter brushing on the hancock notch trail. not complete, but much better than it was.
equipment: snowshoes worked well. the lower trails could be booted if you feel so inclined.
comments: a beautiful day on the hancocks. was very cold to start, but actually quite pleasant once up on the ridge. some great winter only views to the surrounding peaks. thanks to mark for a nice hike and for helping with all the brushing on hancock notch trail.
