When we arrived in Jefferson at about 10a.m. this morning the parking area was pretty full. The sky was mostly overcast with a few breaks of sun and the temperature was in the mid 20s.

The trail was very well packed down the entire way to the summit. The only challenge was managing the traffic as it appeared to be a popular peak today.

We wore snow shoes for the entire hike although we probably could have managed without them. I spotted a few other hikers bare-booting it and still others opted for yack-tracks.

As the day wore on the skies cleared up and it seemed to get colder. We enjoyed great views of the Presidentials from Starr King where they cleared some trees a short while ago.

All in all it was a very pleasant hike. The hardest part about it was getting our little Volkswagen out of the parking area at the end of the day. There is a bit of a dip down that is covered in snow. I had to shovel a bit so that we could get enough traction to get back onto the road. If if you have a small car like we do you might want to park elsewhere.
