Arrived at Ferncroft in whiteout conditions, rather ominous. Put snowshoes on at the last house on the trail and didn't takt them off till I got back there. A nice snowshoe trail all the way with no postholes messing it up. Very cold with high winds howling overhead, windy in the open hardwoods but not bad in the firs. I was glad I wasn't above treeline. No snowbridge on Dicey Mill crossing but low water made it easy. Crossed it on the log with snowshoes on in the dark two weeks ago. (Yeah, I know, what was I thinking. But it was fun.) A good day in the mtn's!
