Trail Conditions: Crawford path packed and bare-bootable. Mizpah cutoff trail was decently packed but snowshoes were helpful. Webster cliff trail to mt Pierce was broken but snowshoes were helpful. Pierce to Eisenhower was the usual rocks, some ice and softer snow pockets. Low visibility and some wind but fairly tame for Presidentials in winter. We left snowshoes on but it was not necessary. Tracks were barely discernible but trail was OK to follow. We stayed on AT at Eisenhower loop junction (did not go to the top) and broke trail to junction of AT with Edmands path. Deep soft snow, large drifts, slow going. Edmands path was unbroken but easy to follow although not fast in the upper section with soft deep snow. Lower down it was a very fast descent on snowshoes. Clinton road to Crawford notch was free of snowmobiles and only a little stinky with gas fumes.

Special Equipment Required: Snowshoes necessary for entire Edmands path and Eisenhower AT bypass.

Comments: beautiful winter day, snow everywhere in all possible shapes and forms, fun on unbroken trails, not too harsh above treeline.
