If it ain't snowin' there, we ain't goin' there.
Better find that facemask:

"A SHIFT TOWARD A COLDER PATTERN FOR THE EASTERN THIRD OF THE
COUNTRY BEGINS LATER NEXT WEEK. MODELS STILL IN GOOD AGREEMENT
THAT PERSISTENT TROUGHING WILL TAKE PLACE... WITH AN INTENSE POOL
OF COLD AIR PUSHING SOUTHEAST OUT OF CANADA. 850 TO 925 MB
TEMPERATURES OF -30 TO -40 CELSIUS MAY TAKE AIM ON OUR AREA LATER
NEXT WEEK... THOUGH THERE WILL BE A LITTLE MODIFICATION OF THE AIR
MASS AS IT HEADS OUR WAY. BUT THE GENERAL COLD PATTERN SHOULD LAST
AT LEAST THROUGH NEXT WEEKEND."

NWS Forecast Discussion tonight from Gray/Portland office

For those unfamiliar with the terminology: 925 millibars at standard pressure corresponds to just about 2500 feet above sea level. Or in other words, much, much closer to Pinkham than to HoJo's.
