We were planning to "warm up" with a hike up to Pyramid for the sunset, but instead ended up going up the North Slide. We followed the Mt Pyramid trail, but it seemed to lead there. Be wary of this if you are following footsteps as we broke out the section that leads to the slide, not the section that goes to the summit. That be elsewhere. The slide was not broken out and there is a lot of ice down low and compacted, deep snow as you near the summit. The spruce traps aren't too formidable as the snow is so packed. As you near the top, it's like climbing up a snowman, as the snow seems to have collected in certain places -- making the slope of the climb even greater. Not sure if we followed the "classical" route but we went into the woods earlier than the slide ended, ended up at the junction b/w Mt Pyramid trail and Scaur Ridge.

Equipment: Snowshoes from the Kanc on the Livermore trail, then crampons on the ascent of the slide. Boots all the way down Pine Bend Brook Trail. The Scaur Ridge Trail coming off of the Pyramids seems not to be broken out.
