Thank you. Was thinking of switching from Hurricane to Cascade & Porter. Will stick with Hurricane when I am up during that time. Was thinking of Driving up Whiteface afterwards & Pizza & Mr. Mike's. Will look at other options or driving around where easier.

Anyone with a first hand account on the progress on Route 73?

This appears update from 5/10 on the DEC site:

Road Construction and Parking Area Closures: Road construction is underway on the Old Military Road which connects Route 73 and Route 86 near Lake Placid. Motor vehicles must detour through the village of Lake Placid. Work should be completed by Memorial Day Weekend. Road construction on Route 73 along the Cascade Lakes has been postponed. All parking areas used for access to Cascade Mountain, Porter Mountain and western Pitchoff Mountain are open. Use caution around the construction signs and materials that remain in two of the parking areas. Use the link in the right column to visit NYS Department of Transportation 511 New York for information on transportation services, traffic, and road conditions throughout the Adirondacks. (5/10)

Yes, I drove to Lake pLacid today and not much going on along the Cascade Lake road, just one short section was one lane immediately after Keene and work seemed completeled by late afternoon. Military Road is construction most of it and it's hard to believe, specially the bridge over the Chubb River near the school, that it will be completed in another week, better to drive right through the Village of Lake Placid.
