Is there a site that will calculate mileage/elevation for hikes?

I know that you can have a smart phone track your route, and then go to a site and upload the data and have it tell you how many miles you did and how much elevation gain you did. But is there a site that will let you enter the information manually? Somewhere that you can perhaps trace a path on a map with the mouse?

I use Terrain Navigator, it is USGS based so the trail locations are not as up to date as some of the other software out there. It does link to most GPS units.

The AMC online guide gives distances and elevation gains between all the intersections and summits in their printed guide. You can't do a partial section of trail, but if you want to know from the base to a certain intersection it works great. It keeps track of overall gain as well as accumulated gain. I use this to get an idea before the hike how long it is and much gain I can expect.
