Conditions: Great, lots of water. The climb up is mostly dry. The final push up to the summit cone of Garfield has snow and ice. Most barebooted but I was glad we had spikes. From Garfield tentsite to Galehead had some spotty snow and ice but we barebooted. The steep decent was tricky but managebale if you just take it slow.

Special Gear: I was glad to have microspikes for the last push up Garfield. I wore them for 20 minutes the whole time we were out and I am glad I had them. Bugs were no issue on the ridge. They were sort of bad down along the river. Temps got down into the 40's. Great night to camp
