trail cond;Mud,running water,snow,hanging moosewood trees[mountain maple]light snow of the clumpy variety 6inches to 10 inches.Some drifts of a almost a foot!
spec.equipment;shell pants,winter boots,hat and gloves.
comments;drove up to Franconia notch to check out the snow and check out the artists bluff area across from cannon proper.was surprised not more were out and about to check out the snow.Parking lot of artists bluff was a slushy mess,but no match for year round snow tires.Thought I got to the top but looked at map afterwards and realized there was three bumps on the "mini ridge that is Bald mountain/Artists bluff.Got to the upper notch in moderate snow fall around 7am and had this hill to my self with snow falling.Home by 10am with day plans of keeping my beer cold for holiday weekend.Happy Memorial day weekend everyone,be safe...some pics...
