Are these trails covered by the Eastern High Peaks regulation that dogs need to be leashed?
I leashed Bookah as we neared Noonmark's summit on a hike so she would not be a nuisance but how about along the trail from Round Pond?

Thanks

No, that's the Dix Mountain Wilderness; no leash required. But of course if you come down Noonmark toward the AMR, dogs are disallowed altogether. No problem on the Dix / Round Pond side.

Thanks, Tom. The DEC online pdf wasn't clear to me about the boundary. I knew it's in the Dix wilderness, but thought that is embraced by the EHP area. Good to know and appreciate the clarification.

Actually, no problem with dogs on the AMR approach to either Noonmark or Round. It's only on trails accessed from the Lake Road where the no dog rule is strictly enforced.
