Trail Conditions: This will likely be of no surprise, but the Rocky Branch Trail offered up mud, stagnant and running water, blowdowns aplenty, and it was rocky and rooty. In other words, it was normal (I've seen it worse). There were very few bugs, the river crossings were a breeze, and the blowdowns were easy to deal with.

Special Equipment Used: None (though poles can help with the crossings).

Comments: Hiked this one with a private group consisting of Randy Pierce, his wife Tracy, and guide dog the Mighty Quinn, "Sherpa" John, Rick, and Jim. Randy is blind and I got to guide him for about half the hike. That proved to be an interesting and rewarding experience; one that I'd gladly do again if again invited. It was Randy's 45th three-season hike (lifetime), and it was my 48th (for 2013) -- woo-hoo!
