Traveled the AT Dalton to North Adams (Mohawk Trail) August 10-11. Overall, the trail was well drained and clear despite the deluge of August 9. There certainly were some muddy spots and puddles, particularly on the south side of Greylock between Noepel shelter and the top. Nothing impassable. Conditions from Dalton to Cheshire and beyond were quite good. Some muddiness on the north side of Greylock between Mt. Williams and Patison Rd. Noepel shelter in good shape! Nice and roomy with the big loft. Tent campers reported a sink hole opening up under a couple of tents over night at the tent area where there are no tent platforms. This left quite a muddy mess inside a couple of tents. Overall, good trail, great hike. Still quite a few NOBO thrus out there, mostly late April and early May starters.
