The Traveler Loop: Baxter's stunning alpine walk with very few visitors 9.15.13

Anyone that frequents Baxter and hasn't hiked the Traveler loop, I highly recommend it. I easily put this on my top 5 Maine list. You won't be disappointed.

I've only done the full loop once; have done N. Traveler a couple times. One of my favorite hikes in the park. Nice photos and TR!

Thank you for sharing this, Tomcat. Having just been there, and done the popular (NEHH) peaks, I definitely enjoyed the view of The Traveler and can see the draw of hiking it. Next time I head to BSP, I will plan on doing the loop.

Nice pics and report! I've been up to Peak of the Ridges once and turned back due to horrible weather. The full loop is very high on my to do list.

Nice. I'll never run out of reasons to visit Baxter. There is also a pleasant, easier and shorter hike on the west side of So. Branch Ponds. So. Branch and Black Cat Mtns., about 6.5 mi, 1600 ft. loop.
