Lots of people out on the trail today - at least 50. Crawford Path to Pierce is well packed powder over hard crust as a result. Only a couple very short patches of crusty ice, and no rocks to speak of - just smooth trail. Nearly everyone was wearing microspikes. From Pierce to Eisenhower there's more powder, mostly packed, but off-trail it's fairly soft and deep, and the wind was erasing footsteps pretty quickly. Again, most were wearing spikes, with a few snowshoes here and there. No problem following the trail, and no ice anywhere - just powder and the occasional ledge. No traction problems.

Despite a forecast of clouds, 3-6" of snow, and light winds for Saturday, we saw blue skies all day looking north, and gray skies off to the south. No snow as of 3pm. Wind was light on the ridge, but 40mph on Eisenhower, and 17 degrees.
