Hiked the Wapack from Old Mt. Road to Miller State Park (5.2 miles) last night with a partner and a dog. 15 degrees. No running water anywhere. Left a car at Miller State Park parking lot, and drove to the Old Mt. Road lot, which has a "no parking at night" sign but we had no problems when we picked it up.

Gear Req: microspikes and appropriate cold weather gear. The trail is mostly ice-free with a light snow cover (not enough for snow shoes anywhere on the journey), but there are a few ice patches on the way up to North Pack, and the last 500 yards going to Miller State Park had cascading ice falls that would be dangerous without traction. Had to carry the dog for some of this, but otherwise she loved it.

Yellow triangle blazes were easy to spot with a headlamp. Snow is well trod on the entire route, so there's little to no confusion on where the trail is.

Total time was about 6:50PM - 10:10PM (3 hours 20 minutes) with a few brief stops along the way.
