Trail Conditions: All trails are pretty well broken out after the new snow we got Wednesday. There are some post holes to look out for on the Lion Head trail from just above the steepest sections all the way through and beyond the Alpine Garden junction. Pretty typical considering how this trail is used. There is no longer a fixed rope going up the "Hillary Step" -- bring your own if you want/need one. Snow is slowly getting deeper above treeline, but it's still plenty rocky. Getting better. Raymond Cascade nor the cone would be ski-able, though Tuckerman Ravine is starting to look right-er. if that lends perspective. The slab is really building on the way to Split Rock, making plunge-stepping on descent more difficult, awkward, though not yet dangerous to the legs. No blowdowns.

Special Equipment Used: We brought trekking poles, ice axes, crampons, and rope. We used it all. Snowshoes could have been used but didn't bring them. Common practice on this route.

Comments: Hiked this one as lead for my work. Really great group, fun times, exciting wind conditions (60~), stellar day with awesome views, and quite the team: the way they came together, helping each other, and making the summit in the nick of time. Bravo to them!
