Date of Hike: February 23, 2014 (and the 22nd)

Trail Conditions: All trails were well broken out in typical MW fashion. No blowdowns aside from that perpetual one part way up the steeps. The fixed rope at the "Hillary Step" was removed in the afternoon. Probably just as well. If people want it they can use their own thus allowing others a more authentic mountaineering experience.

Special Equipment Used: We brought trekking poles, ice axes, crampons, and rope. We used all but the rope.

Comments: Hiked this one as lead for my work. Really great group, fun times, and a pretty perfect day (went up Saturday, too, but it was wicked windy and not nearly so much today). Tuckerman Ravine looked awesome and skiable from above the lip on the right. Avy danger was only moderate. I did note some tracks lower in the bowl, but no skiers. It's likely the 1/2 inch of rain crust atop the snow is making it less than ideal (shin guards needed). Lower down this crust was thinner and more forgiving.
