Date of Hike: March 16, 2014

Trail Conditions: All trails were roughly broken out. The Cat and snow machines had been up Tucks and the Fire Road, but it was pretty lumpy and somewhat unconsolidated (though give it a few days...). Lion Head was the same way. There was a small boot track on the way up, and pretty loose on the steeps. On the way down it was getting better, steppier, kicked, dug in. No fixed ropes anywhere. That's for the best, I think.

Special Equipment Used: We brought trekking poles, ice axes, crampons, and rope. A lot of protective gear, of course.

Comments: Hiked this one as lead for my work. Another great trip but no summit. The winds and cold, with winds forecast to increase, made pressing on an unwise choice. Its was pretty dangerous up there today.
