The trail adopter letter from the WMNF Pemigewasset Ranger District went out yesterday and here is this year's schedule:

* We will be done [or close to it] with extensive relocations and repairs to the Greeley Ponds Trail, large portions of which were decimated by Tropical Storm Irene

* The East Side trail will be repaired and reopened to FS administrative vehicle use, critical to maintenance of the Franconia Brook campground and backcountry range access to the Pemigewasset Wilderness

* Pending decision documents, we plan to relocate portions of the Cedar Brook trail and the very beginning of the Hancock Loop trail to eliminate 3 river crossings and put the trail on more sustainable terrain

* We will address a serious beaver flood on the Guinea Pond trail

* Pending grant funds, we will repair as much of the Osceola trail as possible [my adopted trail...YooHOO!]

This is made possible with the 100% of basic maintenance that will be performed on the 220 plus miles of trail the Pemi District has maintenance responsibility for from trail adopters!
