Flooding damage at the Basin?

We drove back to MA from North Conway yesterday and stopped to see the high water on the Basin Cascades Trail. Couldn't believe the damage at the Basin

This is the main Basin itself. Note the log through the fence - must have come over the top of the waterfall.


This is all that's left of a gravel path.


Does anyone know when this happened? The area was not closed, but maybe should have been.

Wow that is bad news. This is such a pretty area and busy scenic stop. Hopefully there are funds available for repairs.

I was there this winter on Feb 24 and everything still looked good. Definitely from this spring's thaw and rain so far.

Sad scene but one that has been repeated (I believe) - I recall this happening when I was just a kid!!!!
