In case you’re interested…….

If you plan to hike Ammonoosuc Ravine Trail or Jewell Trail from the trailhead on Base Road you might be interested to know the trailhead lot is still gated from the winter closure. The winter trailhead at Marshfield Station is the only place currently open. (as of today – 5/8/2014).

Was there actually still snow in it or is this just an administrative delay of some sort?
 
Disclaimer: Just a guess.....

It wouldn't surprise me if this trailhead remains closed until both Mt. Clinton Road and Jefferson Notch Road are open. Jefferson Notch Road is still closed as well. (at least it was still gated yesterday)

The Cog is not yet operating during the week, only weekends. Nobody was there on Thursday.

Maybe it's a different story when they are operating.
