Trails: Ammonoosuc Ravine Trail, first mile and 0.3 mile side trail to Marshfield Station
Trail Conditions: all work was done in the first 1.0 mile of trail from the USFS lot to the junction with the side trail as well as along the 0.3 mile side trail to Marshfield Station. All water bars cleared. 2 mid sized blowdowns removed. These were both causing people to go off trail and around causing noticeable erosion in one instance. Limbs were removed on two other larger blowdowns blocking parts of the trail. These are fine now. Brushing is not needed in this section, although updating of blazing is and will be completed this summer.
The trail on the north side of Franklin Brook is damaged and it has become hard to tell where the trail proper goes around one tree in particular as a lot of debris has built up.
Comments: nice day for maintenance with no rain and lots of sun in the end. I had hit the water bars and brushing pretty well in the fall and it seemed to make a big difference as this section was not in bad shape. Next trip will focus on the second mile between the side trail junction and Gem Pool. Quite a few people put today and the USFS lot is now open and being used.
