Mt. Abraham / Rapid Stream

I am looking for tales of Rapid Stream on the Mt. Abraham trail in Maine. I am planning on hiking Mt. Abraham next week. By Tuesday it will be at least five days after the last significant rain. I have read elsewhere that it can be a little challenging, and that it may be wise to ford rather than to try to rock hop (water shoes and hiking pole maybe?).

Any thoughts on this matter? Thanks in advance.

Last year we rockhopped across (with some difficulty) and just waded across on the way back. It can be challenging, but it's easy enough to deal with if you just bring some water shoes. You could even stash them on the far side of crossing if you don't want to carry them.
