My hiking has been 'listless' since finishing the NH4K in the early 90's. Last April I went to the AMC 4K dinner/awards on a whim; I had never been before. It occurred to me that I should be able to finish the NE67 in time for the next dinner; probably before the Fall.

So last week I spent 6 days in Stratton, ME, hunkered down at the White Wolf Inn. I hiked 5 of the six days and managed to finish the 10 NE4K peaks in the area. Also Bigelow South Horn, because I was already up on the ridge. (Details in other threads.) Except for one day the weather was generally good, and at the end of the week it was great. Not even many bugs. Didn't bust any part of me, nor did I wreck my car on a logging road.

A most excellent week.

On to VT and Baxter.
