Trails: Ethan Pond Tr. to Shoal Pond Tr. to Nancy Pond Tr. and out.
Decided to break up the 17 mile traverse with a night at Ethan Pond campsite, which was very pleasant. Got an early start on Sat and crossed paths with a red fox carrying a sorry-looking squirrel in its mouth. Sure enough, there has been some work done on the northern section of Shoal Pond trail, with one new bog bridge and a start on a second. From the look of it, building a bog bridge is a huge effort! Orange tape identifies a fair amount of work still to be done, and the tape ends altogether around Shoal Pond. I thought the southern section was going to be ugly, but in fact a lot of brushing has been done there.
Nancy Pond Trail is in good shape end-to-end. Very buggy on the western section.
Carrigain and Moat Region: 89.7% trails, 93.2% miles
Franconia, Twin and Willey Ranges: 77.6% trails, 78.7% miles
